Stomp and Stammer March 2008 Issue

Boasting playful psyche-pop tunes brimming with interlocking warp-drive guitars, fizzy keyboards, and high-pitched, whimsical vocals with an accent equal parts Southern and fake British, Silent Kids sorta sound like Atlanta's version of Elf Power. Recorded by Ben Price, the band's second CD, Dinosaurs Turn Into Birds, throws all manner of potenially distracting effects into the mix, but the sharply-focused songs emerge delightfully enhanced, not obscured. Reliable local indie Two Sheds Music releases the 12-track disc March 25th, three nights later, on Fri the 28th, the band celebrates by headling the Earl, with their pals Luigi and the The Preakness providing support.
